Fiddling with your phone’s charging cable can be annoying at times. However, one of Apple’s most convenient advancements in its technology has made this a lot easier with its newer models of phones and accessories. MagSafe chargers use magnets to easily connect to and charge specific Apple products, such as iPhone 13 and 12, AirPods Pro, and more. Replacing a well-functioning iPhone wireless charger might seem silly, but once you start using a MagSafe charger, you won’t want to go back.

Several MagSafe-enabled wireless charging case options – not just Apple’s – on our list The best MagSafe iPhone accessories (For the iPhone 12, we’re reviewing items from our updated iPhone 13 list). But this best list is all about wireless MagSafe chargers for fast Qi wireless charging. For this, the following points need to be kept in mind:

  • A true MagSafe wireless charger will give you the potential for the fastest wireless charging rates on your iPhone (up to 15 watts instead of the 7.5 or 10 watts that some chargers offer).
  • Official MagSafe products (those blessed by Apple) include the Made for MagSafe badge on the box. However, many other manufacturers have created magnetic wireless chargers that look and feel like MagSafe accessories. These MagSafe technology knockoffs are also more affordable than the official MagSafe products, but here’s the catch: they offer less charging power (limited to 7.5 watts). We’ve included these unofficial products on this list, but know that they charge half as fast as an iPhone, even though they can wirelessly charge some Android smartphones at up to 15 watts, as long as they support a level of fast wireless charging .
  • For maximum power, you’ll need a 20-watt USB-C PD charger – ideally Power Delivery 3.0– Certification. (The iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 Mini include a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box, but not the charger.) Some companies offer bundles that include a MagSafe wireless charging A drive and a USB-C power adapter, while other companies, like Apple, sell the puck and power adapter separately.
  • Most MagSafe chargers (aftermarket and MagSafe certified) will charge other Qi-compatible devices, such as some older iPhones and Android phones. You just won’t get magnetic adhesion.
  • If you still need a charger, our list The best USB-C chargers There are many options. Of course, this also applies to wired charging — it’s always faster than MagSafe or other wireless charging options.

Note that I have personally used all of the products listed below. Likewise, if you don’t care about charging speed, for example, if you’re going to charge overnight, the unofficial MagSafe device offering is fine.

These attach magnetically to MagSafe-compatible iPhone 13 models, but are not MagSafe certified. So they can only charge iPhones at 7.5 watts at most (a few can only charge at 5 watts).

MyCharge calls its new line of magnetic power banks the Superhero MagLock, suggesting they’re a real savior. I am very impressed with their designs. Not only do the batteries of different capacities have strong magnets and stick to the back of the iPhone 12 or 13 well, but they also have raised coils, which should help reduce heat levels while charging. It does seem to work.

I show the 3,000mAh battery in the photo. It’s lightweight and slim, and it’s great for carrying around with you for some emergency charging. However, it won’t give you a full charge, so you may want to upgrade to one of the higher-capacity options, such as the 6,000 mAh model that retails for $60. The 9,000mAh version is powerful and feels like your phone is attached to a small brick. The battery and phone do fit nicely in your hand, but the combo certainly doesn’t fit in your pocket.

All MagLock batteries charge a Qi-enabled iPhone at 5 watts, but you can charge faster if you use a USB-C to Lightning cable for wired charging. I also love the chime when charging starts and your phone tells you how much charge is left in the battery pack (it’s tied to iOS15).

SuperHero MagLock is available in a variety of colors and has a beautiful glossy finish. It’s the best designed magnetic power bank out there—even better than Apple’s.

Mophie’s magnetic power bank is similar to Anker’s, but with a more refined design. Like Anker, this isn’t an official Apple MagSafe accessory, but it sticks magnetically to the back of your iPhone 13 model or MagSafe case—yes, it sticks well—and fits nicely into the 5,000 mAh battery. It also works with other phones that support wireless charging, as it comes with a stick-on magnet.

The iPhone’s wireless charging speed is limited to 7.5W, but if you need faster charging, you can connect a USB-C to Lightning cable to boost the speed to 12W. That’s enough power to fully charge the iPhone 13 or 13 Pro in one go, but it’ll be a little underwhelming for the iPhone 13 Max Pro. I like it.

Anker

Here’s Anker’s take on the Apple MagSafe Wireless Charger. This MagSafe puck is about half the price, but charges up to 7.5 watts on the iPhone (the white version is a few dollars more expensive than the black version). AC adapter not included.

This RAVPower combo includes a magnetic wireless charging cradle with a 20W mini PD power adapter.Wireless charging puck and wall adapter listed for $30, but now $21 when you enter code RPC2 at checkout.

Anker’s PowerCore Magnetic 5K magnetically attaches to the back of your iPhone 13 model or MagSafe case and charges your phone wirelessly. Alas, it doesn’t offer fast wireless charging — it only charges 5 watts, or even 7.5 watts. But it’s convenient and fairly compact. It also adheres well. I prefer Mophie’s competing model because it’s a bit thinner.

iOttie released a nice MagSafe compatible wireless car charger with car vents. It has strong magnets so your iPhone can be attached to the dock, and it also has an integrated USB-C cable and cigarette lighter power adapter so you can start charging right out of the box. Note that iPhone “fast” charging is capped at 7.5 watts (this is for MagSafe-equipped iPhones and cases).

Many of the chargers you’ll see on the latest iPhones lay your phone flat, which may not be ideal if you’re charging at your desk or while watching a video on your phone. Moko’s Armor charger includes a small stand that you can use to get your phone to sit on the charging stand at an angle when horizontal, and it’s pretty cheap.

Mophie’s Snap Plus 15W Wireless Charging Vent Stand is a magnetic stand with an integrated USB-C cable (the charging disc is detachable from the base, but the cable is integrated into the disc). It also comes with a cigarette lighter adapter and a magnetic ring that you can attach to the back of phones that don’t support MagSafe, including Android models. I tried it with a MagSafe case on my iPhone and the phone stuck to the base nicely. That said, the magnet is not super strong and I wouldn’t recommend using it for heavier phones like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. But overall, it’s a beautifully designed accessory.

It can wirelessly charge Android models at up to 15 watts, but iPhones can wirelessly charge up to 7.5 watts.

Telt

In most cases, MagSafe chargers just take up space when they’re not charging. Tylt decided to change things up a bit with its new bowl charger. There’s a base in the center of the bowl and a MagSafe charger on top that magnetically holds the phone in place. The rest of the bowl is open and you can put whatever you want. Coins, keys and other metal items can be safely put in without interrupting charging. And, honestly, it looks a lot better than most other chargers.

When it comes to external batteries, Anker tends to make reliable products. But if you’re willing to opt for a more versatile option, you can save some money with the iWalk Magnetic Wireless Power Bank, which is $30 to $35 or about $15 less than Anker’s Magnetic Power Bank. This iWalk is larger and heavier than the Anker option. It’s a 6,000mAh battery (instead of 5,000mAh), but it does offer faster charging — iWalk claims the iPhone draws up to 7.5 watts — and when you’re holding the phone, the ring provides For some security, it can also be converted into a cradle charging cradle for watching videos, which is nice.

Best Official MagSafe Chargers

These are the real deal, and will charge iPhone 13 models at 15 watts (when paired with a 20-watt or better USB-C charger that supports Power Delivery 3.0).

As the name suggests, the Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe has triple functionality to wirelessly charge your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods at the same time (even with the Watch, your iPhone will start charging at 15 watts and AirPods Charge). The $150 charging pad/cradle isn’t cheap, but it’s one of the few MagSafe 3-in-1 chargers out there.

Belkin also makes a MagSafe-equipped 2-in-1 wireless charger for $100, designed to charge iPhones and AirPods at the same time.

apple

This is an official MagSafe charger made directly by Apple. It’s unclear if its charging cable is better than Aukey, RAVPower, and other cheaper options, but the wireless charging pad does look good in silver and white. Power adapter not included.

Belkin’s Car Vent Mount Pro with MagSafe isn’t technically a charger. It’s just a certified MagSafe car vent mount.Belkin will soon have one Wireless charging version which ($60), but you’ll have to connect a cable to it to charge it anyway. The advantage of the wireless version is that, unlike this vent, you don’t have to plug the cable into your phone every time you want to charge it (I have a USB-C-to-LIghtning cable set up in my phone) for fast-charging cars, but I don’t like the extra step of having to plug in the cable every time I want to charge the phone).

To sum it up, what sets this Belkin apart from other generic, non-MagSafe certified mounts that look similar (some even offer wireless charging) is that the Belkin has very strong magnets that many other vent mounts don’t have . Ton. If you have a MagSafe case on your phone (or just a bare newer iPhone model), the phone does stick to the base. The clips also hold the stand securely in the vent, and you can rotate the stand from portrait to landscape mode as needed.

Apple’s MagSafe Duo Charger is designed to charge your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. The nice thing about it is that the charging pad folds up, cutting its footprint in half, making it a great travel charger for your iPhone and Apple Watch. It doesn’t come with a charging adapter—a ridiculous price—although a USB-C to Lightning cable is included. You should pair it with a 20W USB-C power adapter for the fastest charging speed.
