Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt has been seek renewaland since his demands have not been met, it appears he is now trying to put pressure on the team by not participating in team training.

CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones confirmed that the Browns have no interest in trading Hunter at this time, after Cleveland Net Reports said Hunter asked for a trade.

The news is in CBS Sports NFL Insider Josina Anderson It was reported Saturday that Hunter did not participate in team practice for the second straight practice. Hunter also informed the team that this was his plan moving forward. Anderson reported that Hunter’s “persistence” was deemed unrelated to health and that he would be fined by the Browns. Hunter also reportedly told Browns informally that he wanted to be paid or traded, but a source told Anderson that Hunter would prefer to stay in Cleveland.

“Now I’m just taking it day by day, man,” Hunter said at minicamp in June. “I’m going to see what they want to do with me, and I’m just taking it every day. Hopefully I’ll be here for the long haul. We’ll see what God has planned for me, and that’s all I can say.”

Hunter has one year left on the two-year extension he signed in 2020, with a base salary of $1.35 million and an annual salary of $6.25 million. per Spotrac.

The former Pro bowler and 2017 NFL rushing front-runner played just eight games for Cleveland last year due to a calf injury. Hunter’s best season in Cleveland came in 2020, when he ran for 1,145 yards and 11 touchdowns in scrimmages. The Browns want to retain their dynamic duo at running back with Hunter and Nick Chubb, but it remains to be seen whether they will extend their passing and receiving ability before the 2022 season begins.
