On FNC’s “One Nation” on Saturday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) explained why he thinks Taiwan is important to the United States.

Taiwan’s chipmaking is important to the United States, and China is “bending” its aggression against Taiwan because President Joe Biden’s administration is “stupid and weak,” according to the Republican senator from South Carolina.

“You know, the medical supply chain we’ve learned during COVID is China-centric,” he said. “China is developing a lot of drugs. We need to fight COVID. So, let’s break it. Chips – we just passed a big chip bill. Whether you make refrigerators, TVs or F-35s, chips – most Chips are all made in Taiwan. Why is Taiwan important? 90% of the world’s high-end chip manufacturing is done in Taiwan.”

“The last thing you want China to do is take over Taiwan and monopolize the 21st century chip market,” Graham continued. “So here’s the deal: China is showing their power because Biden’s administration is stupid and weak. Every time Putin threatens Ukraine, we get weak. He doesn’t impose sanctions when he builds up troops on the border [of Ukraine], we don’t want to provoke him. We don’t want to flow into arms before the invasion, we don’t want to provoke Putin. “

“What are we doing in Taiwan?” he added. “I have legislation with the Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, Democrat Bob Menedez, to provide more economic assistance to Taiwan, more military assistance to Taiwan, more military and economic assistance to Taiwan. The administration, the Biden administration, is trying to kill the bill.”
