Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
what to expect modern warfare II beta
At this point, we don’t know the details of what will be playable in the beta, but Activision describes it as a “robust multiplayer experience that goes beyond the core 6v6 experience, with a variety of carefully designed maps of all sizes, and Equally impressive modes, progression experience and other aspects”, all of which will be Call of Duty: Next September 15th event. (Read more about the event here).
My guess is that the beta will have a couple of 6v6 maps and a big map or two planned by Infinity Ward. Those big maps were taken from the new warzone 2 map, so playing the large team mode will help players become familiar with the map before the Battle Royale sequel rolls out.
If past Call of Duty betas are anything to go by, we’ll likely see mode changes throughout the two weekends, with some playlists updated during the beta.
In many ways, this is more of a demo than a beta, although player feedback will certainly help the developers fine-tune the game ahead of its October 28 release. It’s a win-win for players and studios, giving gamers the opportunity to test the game before buying, and Infinity Ward to do some additional playtesting to help prepare for early patches (many updates don’t happen at launch, Instead, patches that occur after release can be notified via beta feedback).
You can check out one of the maps in the video below – the Marina Bay Grand Prix – which will be available during beta and at launch:
