Just days before Tuesday’s Republican Senate primary in the state, former President Donald Trump’s choice of Connecticut’s Leora Levy for the U.S. Senate spoke with Breitbart News about her campaign to “get rid of Connecticut’s Blumenthal blight.”

Breitbart News Saturday Host Matthew Boyle praised Levy for his recent endorsement from former President Donald Trump and asked Senate hopefuls to talk about the importance of support.
“Well, it’s an honor to have the support of President Trump. I’m very proud and candidly in awe of him for believing in me, just as many Connecticut Republican voters believe in me,” Levy said. “I’m the strongest candidate to fight Dick Blumenthal and beat him. I’m running for the Blumenthal blight in Connecticut.”
“The issues driving this election in Connecticut are the same issues that are driving it across the country — high inflation, record high gas prices, rising crime, border incursions, and a very important issue here is parental rights.” Rights are violated here,” Levy continued.
Levy also revealed that her family fled Cuba when she was a child to escape “Castro’s communism.”
“You know, I was born in Cuba. I came here as a kid. We escaped Castro’s communism. My dad started from scratch. We were split in two and we lost everything but nothing,” Levy said . “I understand how lucky, how lucky I am to be able to grow up in the United States of America. I thank God every morning that I am an American woman and a U.S. citizen who came here legally.”
Levy criticized her main opponent, Themis Klarides, for being weak on the Second Amendment and backed by Planned Parenthood. Unlike her opponent, a “professional politician,” she said, she was a “professional American.”
“Republican voters in Connecticut have a clear choice. She’s a career politician for 22 years and she does business the same way Dick Blumenthal does,” Levy said. “She voted the same way he did. She was involved in writing Connecticut’s very strict gun legislation that punishes law-abiding citizens,” Levy said.
“I will always stand up to defend our Second Amendment rights,” Levy added. “I get top marks for an NRA and CCDL candidate who has not yet been in office, a very strong gun, professional gun, professional Second Amendment organization in Connecticut.”
“She’s also proud of herself for helping Connecticut become an abortion mecca. She’s rated 100 percent and recognized by Planned Parenthood. She speaks at their rallies,” Levy said. “I’ve been marching my whole life. I’m recognized by the Susan B Anthony pro life America PAC. I’m very proud of myself for supporting life unapologetically.”
Boyle pointed to Senate Democrats’ latest settlement bill, which is due to vote this weekend, and asked Levy to talk about what’s at stake in the Connecticut Senate seat.
Levy nicknamed the Inflation Reduction Act the “Schumer-Manchin Reconstruction Inflation Improvement Act.”
“As far as I know, this will increase taxes for everyone earning more than $200,000. It goes against a promise Biden made that he would not tax anyone earning up to $400,000 a year, which really makes It is unconscionable that our deficit has increased by $100 billion, a debt we leave to our children and grandchildren,” Levy said.
“We have to change the direction of Connecticut. Connecticut is on the table. Blumenthal is under water. Recent polls show that a majority of Connecticut voters — general election voters — don’t want him re-elected. He’s under water. down and lower and lower because he’s so closely aligned with Biden. Again, I call him ‘Blumenthal blight,'” she said.
Levy went on to praise our capitalist economy and slam Blumenthal for participating in the Communist Party.
“Never has a system brought more prosperity to everyone and our society like capitalism. It is the greatest system ever created and Blumenthal not only aligned himself with progressives, he actually joined Communist Party, he has been in for years,” she said.
“But, nonetheless, I will assure all voters that you will never see me at Communist Party events, that’s for sure, I have spent my whole life fighting the erosion of communism in our country,” Levy said. promise.
Talking about her campaign enthusiasm, Levy said: “I can tell you that wherever I go, I’m all over the state. I can feel the momentum locally, it’s evident, people of all backgrounds, Even independents and Democrats.”
She also talked about her progress with Hispanic voters in her state.
“I got a lot of traction. I work in the Hispanic community — as a native Hispanic — in the dump where there are Hispanics who say they’re Democrats, but they want to vote for me in November ,” Levy said.
“They’ve had enough of the Democrats because Hispanics and Republicans share the same values, beliefs, family, good education, no indoctrination and hard work, a chance to succeed and pass on a better life to your kids, and Let’s make sure your kids have this opportunity,” she added.
“That’s what brought Hispanic voters into the Republican Party in November, and I’m the candidate to lead that effort, and they’ll vote for all of our candidates on the ballot this year,” Levy said.
