Former President Donald Trump slammed the rise in violent crime in U.S. cities in a fiery speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Texas.

“Savage criminals are being released on cashless bail to continue their violent atrocities against the United States of America,” Trump said. “Entire communities are stabbed, shot, strangled, raped and murdered to shreds.”

The former president blamed Democratic elected officials in U.S. cities for rising crime.
“The streets of our Democrat-run cities are covered in the blood of innocent victims,” Trump said. “Shooting between bloodthirsty street gangs is in full swing, bullets are killing random crowds, and wonderful and beautiful little kids have never been before. Chance.”

Trump also said the lawlessness demonstrated at the U.S.-Mexico border played a role in the rise in crime.
