LG today announced two new sets of wireless earbuds. The first was the Tone Free T90 earphones, which are now the company’s flagship product. They still have the iconic germicidal UVnano charging case. Like the Tone Free FP9 before it, the case also doubles as a Bluetooth transmitter, allowing you to connect an auxiliary cable to devices that might lack wireless connectivity, such as a treadmill, and still use the earbuds as normal.

According to LG’s press release, the noise-cancelling T90s feature “new internals with larger drivers that help produce deeper, more satisfying bass.” But what’s more interesting is that they support “across your favorite content” and device” Dolby Head Tracking. This is how LG describes the experience:

Dolby Head Tracking recalibrates sound as the user moves their head for a more natural sounding experience. Whether listening to music, watching a movie, enjoying a favorite streaming series or playing a video game, listeners will feel like they are in the center of the scene and experience a whole new level of audio immersion.

LG claims that “the T90s are the first wireless earbuds to feature Dolby’s audio virtualizer designed specifically for earbuds,” increasing the immersion and dimension of sound. Apple’s AirPods and Beats earbuds support head-tracking spatial audio, as do Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds 2, and Buds Live. Google plans to add the same feature to its Pixel Buds Pro later this year. In all cases, the audio changes when you move your head. The T90 earbuds promise up to 9 hours of battery life (with adaptive ANC turned off), plus another 18 hours from the charging case.

The company has also played to the fitness crowd with its new Tone Free Fit (TF8) earbuds. Like other workout-focused earbuds, they have soft silicone fins that ensure they stay securely in your ears even during vigorous exercise. They’re rated IPX7 for water resistance, a step above the IPX4 in the T90, and include hybrid ANC. The battery life is also slightly longer, with up to 10 hours of continuous playback.

Unfortunately, LG hasn’t announced prices for either pair of the earbuds, but they’re both slated for a September release.
