Republican senators warned that Democrats will “pay the price” for passing a $700 billion “lower inflation” bill.

On Sunday, the Democratic-controlled Senate passed a massive spending package reportedly aimed at reducing deficits and curbing inflation, while “expanding Obamacare subsidies, spending more than $300 billion on climate change programs and allowing Medicare to Drug prices are negotiated.,” according to Breitbart News.

The bill passed partisan lines after moderate Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) reached a deal with President Joe Biden after months of resistance. Vice President Kamala Harris offered the tie-breaking vote.

In a statement after the vote, the Republican National Committee chairman said Democrats would face consequences in November’s midterm elections.

“Democrats will pay the price in November for raising household taxes during the recession,” McDaniel told Breitbart News.

Likewise, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Democrats have largely catered to their “radical left base at the expense of the American middle class.”

“The Schumer-Manchin Act would drive up inflation and prices, hit small businesses and U.S. manufacturing, raise natural gas prices, and raise the IRS by $400,000 a year,” Cruz said. Say in a statement.

Sen. John F. Kennedy (R-LA) called the bill “a particular kind of stupidity” in a statement on Twitter.

Kennedy tweeted: “Raising taxes during a recession and inflation is a special kind of stupidity – it’s called stagflation, it’s the result of President Biden’s policies, and that’s what we’re facing right now. “

“The Democrats’ reckless tax and spending plan includes nearly $370 billion to fund the Green New Deal, $64 billion for Obamacare, and hundreds of billions of dollars in new taxes on American businesses and manufacturers,” Senator Martha Blackburn (R-TN) tweeted.

“The big spend also includes $80 billion to double the number of IRS agents — effectively giving every American a personalized tax auditor. We should cut taxes, not raise them,” she added. “Regrettably, Senate Democrats have forced through a socialist agenda that will make life more difficult and expensive for Tennesseans.”

The House Freedom Caucus was similarly uneasy about the bill’s passage, saying Democrats were “spending big money” to enact a socialist Green New Deal in the country at a time when Americans faced aggressive inflation.

“Many nonpartisan experts agree that this legislation will not reduce inflation, and many predict it will have the opposite effect,” the caucus said. “To make matters worse, this bill not only directs $369 billion in relief money to special climate change benefits, it does so behind the back of American taxpayers.”

“To fund their socialist agenda, Democrats are replacing the IRS with $80 billion (six times the agency’s annual budget) to build an army of 87,000 new law enforcement officers to pay taxpayer revenue every year It’s less than $200,000 to conduct as many as 1 million additional audits — the same middle class most affected by the Biden economics boom,” it added.
